Five Years Later

My blog turns five today and I have a thing for the number five. I've chosen a snapshot post from every year to celebrate. I also want to make a special note to all the bloggers who have commented, encouraged and given me food for thought, thank you. It's been especially nice to have met some of you who have become good friends over the years. Cheers to blogging and being connected all around the world!

2005 - lost 30kgs and got my first tattoo

2008 - visited my eldest sister in New York and still editing the images!
2009 - fell in love with running
2010 - Jivamukti Downunder w/ Sharon Gannon & David Life, hopefully not a once in a lifetime opportunity

Moving in March

Photo: joy by whimsy studios

February was quite an enlightening month and as far as my little corner of the world is concerned, it was Jivamukti Yoga month. What an absolute honour to practice under and be guided by Sharon Gannon and David Life. They have awakened something in me and I am going to hold onto to it for as long as I can and explore it further over the next month.

I am also still doing the vegan thing (for college assessment) and seriously considering staying vegan. Admittedly, for the sake of my family and visiting overseas relative, I chose to eat dairy over the weekend. I have had a few other mishaps with dairy as well but this is mostly out of not being prepared or bad habits being run without realising e.g. drinking cocktails. So even though I had dairy over the weekend, I really don't want to make these kind of choices again. I don't need dairy in my diet and there is always a vegan alternative. I just have to be more disciplined until I have educated myself enough to make myself more aware and change my habits. Like becoming vegetarian, it will become second nature.

UPDATE 17/3

I am moving house next week and with very little sleep, I'm going to give myself a break for the rest of the month. Our landlord is selling after 5 years so I'm a little stressed but looking forward to a change and living in another suburb after 7 years.
