Do Yoga, Every Day

In one of my yoga classes, we've been asked to do yoga every day for the month of November and write about it. It doesn't always have to be a full practice. It can be 10 minutes of asana, 90 minutes of asana or even 5 minutes of meditation. Just as long as we do yoga every day and be mindful of what we are practicing. Blogging my practice will keep me honest and motivated. It will also help me learn more about myself, my practice and the way I interact with those around me.

My daily yoga practice will include a mix of:

It'll be interesting for me to do this again since it's been a while that I've been able to commit to a month-long challenge. I'm still working, I'm still studying at night but I know that this kind of practice can only benefit everything I am doing and my relationships. It'll be a good opportunity to de-clutter my life as well.

My partner is leaving for Chicago today so the first thing I'll do to prepare tonight is clean the house. There's nothing like practicing on clean floors, sleeping in clean, crisp sheets and the smell of fresh flowers on the table.

Jivamukti Inspired Yoga Love

Luckily I called my blog *rand(om)* because I really do get the urge to write sometimes and need an outlet. Yoga for me this past year has been challenging. New teachers, new styles, politics and then some. But the love has come back in force and a renewed commitment to myself. When I do yoga, both on and off the mat, I feel more positive and my my relationships with those around me benefit as well. Now for the month of November, one of my teachers has asked us to keep a diary while doing yoga every day, so I thought I'd come back here just before November starts and reacquaint myself. There's no place like home.

Another reason for my renewed commitment is the exciting news that Sharon Gannon and David Life, cofounders of Jivamukti Yoga, will be visiting Australia. Samadhi Yoga, one of the yoga studios that I frequent, will be hosting their workshops and retreat. I'm really excited so signed up for the lot. There'll be yoga, kirtan, swimming, hooping, singing, dancing and a bunch of really cool, fun and beautiful peeps.

If you're reading this and are an Aussie yogi, come along! It'll be a fantastic experience and Byron Bay is amazing, one of my favourite places to visit in the warmer months. Beaches, good food, great vibes...
