Recovery & Snacks

It's a fabulous morning and although it was really hard for me to get out of bed to go for my walk (couldn't sleep), I remembered Kate's mantra and DID IT ANYWAY!

The walk was hard after a whole day of eating badly and my stomach still hurts but it's a good reminder. I never want to feel this way again. I am looking forward to the week ahead. Back at home now and in my safe place.

M posted about her snacking this morning. Great post! I noticed that I started snacking on carbs/dairy after dinner so I'll start shuffling my snacks around so that I don't eat after dinner anymore. Great way to shift my focus off the weekend.

A huge thank you for all your kind comments over the past couple of days too. It really helps to be able to write about the little bumps in our journey and realise we are all in this together. And we can and do get through these little set backs, especially when we put them in perspective.

I hope everyone has a good start to the week also!

Well done for getting up and going for your walk. I feel the same after I've had a bad eating day, but the best thing to do is get back on track. 5Kg to goal that is so amazing you must be stoked babe! Keep up the good work:)

Good on you for getting up and doing it anyway. I didn't want to do anything this morning either, it was so nice in bed and sooooo cold outside, but I did and feel much better for it.

Hugs for Mary :) Sorry that your little holiday couldn't be finished on a good note. You will recover from one bad day, and as I said to M the other day, whats one bad day when you have been really really good for so may weeks now?
Hope you have a successful day!

Good luck with getting back on track. Sometimes we just need a reminder of why we start this journey in the first place. A break is good as long a it's not too long. XX

That Kate has a lot to answer for ;) You are so cool getting up and doing it anyway. Think I may have to record that mantra and put it on auto-playback all night so that I can spring out of bed. Preferably at 5.30am, not 12.30, & 2.00 & 3.00. LOL Makes it very hard to get out of bed *yawn*. Speaking of which, I'm off for a nap.

Hope you have a lovely day now that the glorious sun is out. :)

Congrats on doing it anyway. That's something that I need to remember more often! You are close to your goal now, aren't you? I hadn't noticed! With your attitude and ability to get back on track, you'll get there in no time at all. :)

good for you, getting out there anyway, its always hard after eating too much the day before, almost as if that extra weight of everything sitting around in side makes the effort that much more... hope your stomach feels better soon :)

Hi Mary! Make sure you bookmark these posts for next time you have a family gathering! That way you won't underestimate the impact it has on your stress levels, your eating, your emotions, your soul. Remember the four f's? In times of great stress we do Food. What matters most is that your learn from it and pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start all over again (as the song goes). Each time you'll put in more healthy strategies and family gatherings will impact less and less. Ah but I'm not telling you anything you didn't already know! Well done!

Now I'm off to bookmark my post about camp before the gym!

We might need to change that to Mary's mantra since you are so much better at doing it than I am!! :-)

Hey Mary, I've been offline for a few days, but have just come back and caught up on you weekend - a bumpy road home it seems. '

Firstly. Congrats on 1.3 lost - that is a big effort considering the week to appear to have had. And - looking at your ticker - ONLY 5KGs to GOAL!!! So close and very obtainable now - start planning your celebration.

Secondly, A weekend like the one you've just had really does challenge the willpower. Don't be too hard on yourself, make the most of your self-time this week and try to build up your positivity again - a walk can do wonders for your head.

Hope to c u this weekend. Have a great week.

Cath

It's a pity we can't choose our family!!

Good to see you back into the swing of things.

And you must be feeling fantastic to know that your WW goal is just around the corner!
